Writing 121 has evolved into an excessive analysis of social media.  The topics and subject matter directly correlate with our societies addictions to technological advances -- specifically social media.  From blog posts to essays on social media platforms, every aspect of the internet is covered throughout the length of this course.  This shows the change in literature over time and into our century.  There was a time when the greatest minds were afraid of the effect the written word may have on our culture -- I fear the ridicule we would endure should their gaze be set upon us today.
However, it is necessary to strive to understand these new advances in communication.  Even though there may be obvious flaws in societal influences, it is a double edged sword because we are still pressured into using, maintaining, and nourishing these forums.  So much of this new mode of learning has been integrated into our daily lives, that it exists even in our classrooms.  The creative minds of our time have found ways to improve upon these experienced, and create art forms in the way social media is presented.  It allows an outlet for our fantasies and imaginations to mingle with reality-- much like the content of classic literature.  Hopefully in time we will find a balance of quality and quantity of information so we can fully access the potential of our new found tools.
An interesting aspect of these social media platforms is their ability to mark patterns in our behaviors, and then reflect these patterns in the layout, content, and purpose of these websites.  There are countless social media platforms, with many serving identical purposes.  The differences in structure and format serve as attractions to diverse communities, creating an applicable world for someone in every walk of life.  This process of inclusion has been ongoing since the beginning of the online experience.  It seems the object of the net is to slowly integrate our entire species into its web so that we can all feel connected without having to truly be together.
On the other hand, who is to say that this change in the way we think and behave is negative?  Evolutionary and adaptive processes have been perfecting themselves indefinitely, and therefore deserve respect and admiration.  The only problem is that our technology advances much faster than biological evolution, leaving more than enough room for unintended consequences, which are being reflected in the content of our online communications -- especially the media.  Fortunately, there are still people that do not feel the need to participate in such fallacies.  As the fraudulent ideals of social media become more widely known, our species will be able to repair these aspects and use the internet for more altruistic purposes.

Social Media has become an increasingly popular tool in our society.  Various forms have helped distribute knowledge in the most efficient way seen so far in history.  However, this increase in quantity of accessible knowledge has come at a cost.  Quality.  False information has become accepted as inevitable and unavoidable.  This can be agreed upon without being pessimistic, although that does not mean there are no positive attributes to social media.  People are able to connect around the world in a completely seamless way.  This impressive innovation came from the most rare and artistic minds, and in effect accentuates the possibility for more ideas to flourish.  Hopefully the detrimental effects these new advances have on us are outweighed by their achievements.  These concepts are constantly subject to the ebb and flow of human morality.  The choices individuals make decide whether social media remains shackled in superficial restraints, or delves deeper into its potential to enhance our collective existence.

Fractals are extraordinary, yet they are all around us.
